  1. Nitrogen is a colourless, odourless, 
  2. tasteless, gaseous, nonmetallic element, with 
  3. a symbol of N, an atomic number of 7, and a 
  4. relative atomic mass number of 14.0067. It 
  5. forms almost 80% of the Earth's atmosphere by 
  6. volume and is a constituent of all plant and 
  7. animal tissues (in proteins and nucleic 
  8. acids). Nitrogen is obtained for industrial 
  9. use by the liquefaction and fractional 
  10. distillation of air.
